Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Sixth Issue, Penny, 8 February 1599 - 30 April 1600, Tower, (m.m.) E • D • G • ROSA • SINE • SPINA, P over lower P in SPINA, beaded inner circle only, crowned and draped bust 5B left, rev. (m.m.) CIVI-TA[-] LON-DON, the S entirely omitted in error, beaded inner circle only, square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 0.495g, 10h, i.m. anchor [on obverse only] (BCW AN-1/AN-a; North 2017; S.2580), the portrait and shield rather flat, otherwise richly cabinet toned fair to a bolder fine, the die-sinker's error clear and intriguing, the mint mark especially sought after by Elizabethan connoisseur's, an extremely rare little coin thus
