Edward VI (1547-1553), Third Period, Fine Silver Issue, Sixpence, 1551-1553, Southwark, (Under-Treasurer, Sir John Yorke), crowned and draped facing bust, Tudor rose to left, denomination to right, rev. square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 2.890g, 12h, m.m. y (North 1938; S.2483), a small flan split at 3 o'clock and lightly crimped, otherwise on a neat round flan, with a light cabinet tone, the portrait impaired, the Tudor shield crisp and uniform, about fine / very fine; another, Tower, (Under-Treasurer, Sir Nicholas Throgmorton), similar, 2.609g, 3h, m.m. tun (North 1938; S.2483), pierced in field at 5 o'clock, lightly clipped and straightened where once love-tokened, otherwise toned, struck details fine or bolder (2)
