G F Crowther, Numismatic Chronicle [Third Series, Volume XI, 1891], Type XIV; SCBI 11 [Reading/Stockholm], 609 same dies; North 848 [Crown 1]; BMC VIII, 847 same dies [Beauworth]; S.1257), subtly crimped, otherwise richer cabinet patina with light golden toning with dapples of cabinet purple hues, of excellent metal, very fine or near so, and struck from an obverse die shared with a contemporary moneyer of the mint Godwine
