1881-1971, A truly superb and comprehensive collection offered intact (almost 400 items) the majority carefully and meticulously written up on exhibition pages commencing with Postal Stationery Cards with a lovely range of used and unused and including De la Rue Die Proofs, handpainted essays including 1902 essay with 'bahamas' and 'one penny' picked out in Chinese white and signed by Sir W. H. Mercer (unique and Ex Vestey), examples overprinted "specimen", locally surcharged examples, page from the Madagascar archives, etc., Postal Stationery Envelopes with 1880 De la Rue essay on tracing paper for 4d. design handpainted in purple, lilac and Chinese white (unique), embossed die proof for 4d. in black with uncleared surround, further die proofs and other archival items, surcharged envelopes, examples overprinted "specimen", examples from the Madagascar archive, 1902 De la Rue Edward VII proof in vermilion for the 2½d. envelope issued in blue, etc., Registered Postal Stationery envelopes with 1893 De la Rue essay on tracing paper for 2d. design hand-painted in blue, grey and Chinese white, embossed proof for 2d. value in vermilion, a range of used, uprated examples, later die proofs along with used and unused examples of the envelopes. Postal Stationery Airletters with a range of unused, examples overprinted "specimen", and used with a lovely range throughout to 1980; also International Reply Coupon with unique Bahamas 3d. imperforate block of four (ex King Farouk) and 1907 incoming usage from Great Britain, also literature with 'Bahamas Stamps and Postal Stationery to 1970' edited by Peter Fernbank hard cover, Gisburn's Bahamas, etc. A brilliantly complete and superb collection of museum quality with many unique archival items
