1901 (5 Aug.) envelope (minor peripheral faults) from Zastron to Diyatalawa, bearing 1d. tied by Aliwal North d.s. with despatch c.d.s. alongside and showing triangular Press Censor h.s. (applied at Aliwal North) and small "maldirge" h.s.; and 1901 (17 Aug.) envelope (corner fault at lower left) from Port Elizabeth to Diyatalawa Camp, franked 2½d,, showing small "maldirge" h.s. and double-lined oval "passed censor p.o.w./o.h./diyatalawa" in violet

Note: In 1901, some of the mail for Diyatalawa was mis-sent to India. A "maldirige" mark was applied to this mail, probably in Tuticorin. It is believed that the mis-sorting probably occurred in Durban.
