Lot: 67

(x) Colombia
1859 imperf 5c. and 20c. blue se-tenant pair, Stone A, positions 34-35, sheet margin at left and large margins on the other sides, unused with large part original gum, fresh appearance, small natural inclusion and tiny thin spots of no consequence. Extremely rare with only four se-tenant pairs recorded and a magnificent exhibition item. Sc. 6b, unpriced. Photo

Note: The 20c. Stone A contained two significant transfer errors and one noteworthy retouched transfer variety. The first error is an inverted 20c. transfer in position 13, the second stamp in the second row. The other error is found in the fourth row, also the second stamp, position 35, which is a 5c. denomination transferred to the 20c. stone by mistake. The prominent retouch variety is position 25, the third stamp in the third row, which has been extensively redrawn on the stone to correct a poor transfer.
