(g) NGC MS66 | Czechoslovakia (1960-1989), Commemorative Medallic Gold Ducat, 1973, struck for the Millenium of the Bishopric of Prague, by Horácek [Stuttgart State Mint], St. Wenceslas standing facing, rev. rampant Czech Lion in Slovak shield, straight milled edge, 3.49g, 12h (Fb. -; KM -), with pleasingly mint fresh surfaces, one of only 100 pieces struck, excessively rare thus, in NGC holder, graded MS66 (Cert. #8221856-001)
This piece was commissioned to commemorate the millennium of the Prague Bishopric by Czech emigree, Mr Horácek, who was then residing in Germany. Struck by the Stuttgart Mint, this private commission was limited to a run of only 100 pieces.
