George III (1760-1820), 'Northumberland' Shilling, 1763, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, seven hearts to semée, angles plain, smaller Garter star, edge obliquely milled, 6.10g, 6h (ESC 1214; Bull 2124; S.3742), a couple of minor scratches in the fields but otherwise cabinet toned, good very fine, an iconic scarcity in the Shilling series
