(g) NGC MS62 PROOFLIKE | George III (1760-1820), 'Garter' Half-Guinea, 1813, seventh laureate head right, rev. crowned shield in Garter, edge obliquely milled, 4.18g*, 12h (MCE 448; EGC I, 859; Selig 1065-1066; Stratos 50; S.3737), a notoriously 'soft' issue, with highly superficial marks in otherwise quite brilliant fields, a pleasing extremely fine, a rare date in exemplary grade, a discerner's handsome cabinet piece and an exquisite complement to the ever-popular 'Military Guinea' of this date thus, in NGC QR holder, graded MS62 PL (Cert. #6947433-001)
