NGC PF63 | George III (1760-1820), Proof Half-Guinea, 1787, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA •, fifth laureate head right, rev. • M • B • F • ET • H • REX • F • D • B • ET • L • D • S • R • I • A • T • ET • E • crowned and garnished shield, edge plain, 4.85g, 12h (W&R 130; Eimer 89; Douglas-Morris 91; Selig 1151-1152; S.3735), light cabinet friction in otherwise attractively reddish-golden toned and brilliant fields, a pleasingly good extremely fine, very rare, one of only 168 struck under Lord Effingham (Master of the Mint)'s direction on 19 September 1787, in NGC holder, graded PF63 (Cert. #8220552-002)
