Low Countries, "Edward I" (1272-1307), Contemporary Forgery of a Long Cross Issue, Penny, in the style of Class 2, c. 1280, + EDW B ANGL DNS hYI [sic], crude crowned bust facing, bifoliate crown with extremely tall central fleur, rev. CIVI-TAS LOIC-ION, retro-grade D for first N, reverse-barred second N, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, 1.03g, 3h, of obviously base fabric, with obvious die-sinker errors, otherwise of accomplished and competent style, a small striking split at 12 o'clock, otherwise very fine, a rare survivor
