NGC MS63 | Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1838, first small young head left, W.W. raised on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.98g, 6h (MCE 499; Marsh 22; Bull 1054; Bentley 36; S.3852), light traces of contact marking, nevertheless the fields with a full mint bloom and with a light golden hue, an honest and most pleasingly choice example, first year of issue and scarcely encountered in this splendid condition, in NGC holder, graded MS63 (Cert. #8220521-001)
