NGC AU58 | James I (1603-1625), Third Coinage, Crown Gold Issues, Gold Crown or Quarter-Laurel, 18 June 1624 - 7 July 1625, Tower, (m.m) IACOBVS D : G : MAG : BRI : FR : ET HI : REX, fourth laureate and draped bust left, V value behind, rev. HENRI ROSAS REGNA (m.m) IACOB, long cross fleury over large crowned square-topped Royal shield, bird-headed harp with three strings, 2.27g, 11h, m.m. trefoil (Schneider II, 99; North 2119; S.2642B), struck from lightly rusted dies with resultant blunder to legends, nonetheless the portrait crisp and most pleasing, with a handsome golden-red tone, a bolder very fine, the portait appealing for type, in NGC holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #8220522-010) ~ NB. incorrectly attributed as S.2642A on holder
