NGC AU58 | Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Third 'Restoration' Coinage, Sixth Issue, "Crown Gold", Half-Pound, 9 May 1594 - 13 February 1596, Tower, (m.m) ELIZABETH • D .' G .' ANG • FRA .' ET • HI .' REGINA • crowned bust left, with flowing hair, wearing elaborate bodice, rev. (m.m) SCVTVM FIDEI • PROTEGET • EAM • crowned square-topped shield, dividing E-R, 5.49g, 1h, m.m. woolpack (Schneider I, 810; Brown & Comber BC2; North 2009; S.2535A), some doubling to obverse legend and resultingly soft in parts, otherwise a most pleasing uniform strike to shield, with wholesomely honest and natural golden-red hues, almost extremely fine, rare in this attractive state, in NGC holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #8220520-003)
