St George and dragon, edges plain (S.PS15), with Royal Mint case of issue, including: i) Proof Five-Pounds, 1937, 12h (W&R 435; S.4074), minor pinmarks before the nose and wispy hairlines throughout the fields, otherwise brilliant, nearing as struck, graded NGC PF63 (Cert. #8220914-001); ii) Proof Two-Pounds, 1937, 12h (W&R 437; S.4075), some faint hairlines, lightly frosted to brilliant fields, much as struck, graded NGC PF64* (Cert. #6674517-001); Proof Sovereign, 1937, 12h (W&R 439; S.4076), some minor hairlines, otherwise brilliant, much as struck, graded NGC PF64 (Cert. #8220915-002); lastly, Proof Half-Sovereign, 1937, 12h (Marsh 543A; W&R 442; S.4077), two small toning spots, nonetheless brilliant to lightly frosted fields, much as struck graded NGC PF64 (Cert. #6674517-005) (4)
