Charles II (1660-1685), Guinea, 1677, fourth laureate head right, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Ellerby Area Hoard 104; MCE 76; Farey 180; EGC - [cf. 260 for reverse]; S.3344), modern abrasions removing flaw in second quarter or reverse and light bruising to rim, otherwise residually lustrous and largely original and uniform for issue, a really bold fine, and scarcely encountered date
