The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | George II (1727-1760), 'Old Head' Shilling, 1750, 'Thin 0', older laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, eight hearts to semée, angles plain, smaller Garter star, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 345; EMC 857; ESC 1210; Bull 1729; S.3704), arresting cartwheel lustre with pretty peripheral toning, a pleasing extremely fine, scarce in this impressive state
