Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Mestrelle's Milled Issues, Sixpence, 1562, Tower (Upper House), large crowned and draped bust left, wearing elaborately-decorated bodice, small rose behind, rev. narrow square-topped shield over long cross double-fourchée, edge plain, 3.134g [48.34grns], 7h (Borden & Brown 25 [O11/R9]; North 2027; S.2596), historic scuff across mouth and nose, otherwise richly cabinet toned with some patchy retoned iridescence, a pleasing and wholesome example, really well-balanced for issue, a bolder very fine
