Edward VI (1547-1553), Third Coinage, 'Crown Gold', Half-Sovereign, 1551-1553, Tower, half-length image of crowned boy king right, holding orb and sword, wearing damascened armour, rev. crowned coat of arms dividing regnal cypher, 5.45g, 2h, m.m. tun (Schneider I, 694-95; North 1928; S.2451), light surface friction in otherwise handsomely original and residually lustrous fields, a pleasingly uniform good very fine, the portrait atypically bold, rare thus, with NGC Certification ~ Altered Surface (#8220522-009)
