(x) PCGS MS62 | Edward III (1327-1377), Fourth Coinage, Post-Treaty Period, Noble, 1369-1377, Tower, + EDW/ARDVS DI x GRA x REX x ANGL x' Z x FRANC x' DNS x hIB x' Z x AQT, saltire stops and post-treaty lettering, annulet before EDWARDVS [sic] and above sail, ropes 3/1, ornaments 1-1-1-1, quatrefoils 5/4, castles crenellated, rev. + IhC xx AVTEM xx TRANSIENS xx PER xx MEDIVM xx ILLORVM xx IBAT, chevron-barred a, large e and pellet in centre, i.m. cross pattée [6] (LAL -; Schneider I, -; North 1281; S.1518), lustrous with a touch of die wear to portrait, otherwise near extremely fine, the full regnal name in Latin exceptionally unusual on the Post-Treaty Noble series, this the finest of only three traced by this cataloguer, and unlisted in Lawrence, Doubleday and Schneider, extremely rare thus, in PCGS holder, graded MS62 (Cert. #45081982)
