Aethelred II 'Unræd' (978-1016), Long Cross Type, Penny, 997-1003, Cambridge, Leofsige, + ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGL, NG ligate, legend begins at 7 o'clock, draped bust left, no inner circle, bust breaks legend, rev. + LEOFSG M'O GRAN, voided long cross, quatrefoil of pellets in second and third angles, 1.23g [18.98grns] (Parsons -; North 774; BMC IVa; S.1151), softly struck to peripheries, otherwise of good metal, a bolder very fine, a very rare variety with quatrefoils in second and third quarters
