Roman Empire, Macrinus (AD 217-218), AE Sestertius, IMP CAES M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG, laureate and cuirassed bust right, rev. PONTIF MAX TR P COS P P, Fides standing left, head right, holding two standards, SC in exergue, 23.78g (BMCRE 121, pl. 82, 9; Cohen 61; RIC 141), excellent strike, detailed portrait in high relief, accentuated by a rich, earthy patina, slight roughness to reverse with a split at the lower right of the flan, nevertheless very fine and rare, lamentably determined as 'tooled' by NGC, and therefore not graded [NGC Submision #8221848-006]
