NGC XF ~ Fine Style | Roman Empire, Hadrian (AD 117-138), AV Aureus, HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate and draped bust right, rev. COS III, she-wolf suckling the twins Romulus and Remus, standing right, 7.25g (Calico 1231; RIC 711; Cohen 422), some slight scuffs, but otherwise a detailed and lively example, employing both the charismatic portraiture of Hadrian and Rome's evocative founding myth, in an NGC 'Ancients' holder, graded Extremely Fine ~ Fine Style (Strike: 5/5, Surface: 4/5) [NGC Cert. #8221848-005]
