NGC Ch XF | Roman Republic, L. Hostilius Saserna, moneyer, AR Denarius, c. 48 BC, head of Gallia right, wearing long, disheveled hair, carnyx behind, rev. L HOSTILIVS SASERNA, Diana (Artemis) of Ephesus standing facing, wearing long hair, laurel wreath and long, flowing robes, holding stag, prancing left, by its antlers with her right hand, and a long vertical spear with her left, 3.93g (Crawford 448/3; CRI 19; Sydenham 953; Hostilia 4; RBW 1570), toned, struck slightly off-centre to obverse but nevertheless pleasingly detailed, especially so to reverse, good very fine, in an NGC 'Ancients' holder, graded Choice Extremely Fine (Strike: 4/5, Surface: 4/5) [NGC Cert. #8220524-005]
