NGC XF | Roman Republic, Anonymous (c. 225-212 BC), AR Didrachm/Quadrigatus, laureate heads of Janus, rev. Jupiter, hurling a thunderbolt and brandishing a sceptre, in galloping quadriga driven by Victory, right, incuse ROMA inscribed upon raised tablet in exergue, 6.48g (Crawford 28/3; Sydenham 64; HN Italy 334; RSC 23; RBW 63), struck slightly off-centre with a few light scratches, nevertheless a beautifully crafted coin exhibiting a particularly sophisticated style, residually lustrous and holding sumptuous tone to the reverse, very good very fine or better, in an NGC 'Ancients' holder, graded Extremely Fine ~ marks (Strike: 5/5, Surface: 3/5) [8221849-010]
