George II (1727-1760), 'Roses' Crown, 1739 DVODECIMO, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, roses in angles, nine strings to harp, downwards lettered edge, 30.05g, 6h (ESC 122; Bull 1665; Spink 3687), scratch before the mouth, lightly contact marked and with a resulting softness to the hair, otherwise with a pleasing grey tone and residually lustrous, a really bold very fine
