George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1718, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, roses and plumes in angles, edge obliquely milled, 6.01g, 5h (ESC 1165; Bull 1566; Spink 3645), small striking flaw by E of REX, otherwise lightly toned and lustrous, good very fine, the reverse better, a scarcer early date
