NGC AU58 | Commonwealth (1649-1660), Halfcrown, 1654, 'O over M' in COMMONWEALTH Error, Tower, (i.m.) • THE • COMMONWEALTH • OF • ENGLAND, English shield within palm and laurel wreath, rev. • 1654 • GOD • WITH • VS, conjoined shields of England and Ireland, • II • vi • above, i.m. sun [on obv. only], 14.83g [228.9grns], 12h (Adams 263 this coin; Tisbury III, 393 same obverse die; ESC 435A; Bull 45; North 2722; Spink 3215), struck on an oval flan with historic scuffs by D of GOD, otherwise richly cabinet toned, bordering on extremely fine for issue, the die-sinker's error beautifully clear and very rare, in NGC holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #6380400-002)
