George William Clemetson was born on 17 November 1908 at Maidstone, Kent. An electical engineer by trade, he served in the 1st Federated Malay States Volunteer Force during the Battle of Malaya. Serving alongside his brother Captain John Gouldin Clemetson, he was taken a Prisoner of War on 15 February 1942, being incarcerated in Changi and then transferring to Siam on the 'Death Railways', including at Chungkai. He was released on 2 September 1945 and returned back to Malaya in 1946. Clemetson died in Worcester in April 1989.
