Purchased September 1978.

Arthur Augustus Kaser was born on 7 February 1888, he was serving in Allababad, India at the time of the 1911 Census. During the Great War he served in France from 19 December 1914 with the 1st Battalion, Royal Scots and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in 1926. Retired to Maldon, Essex by 1939, he was listed as an Army Pensioner, who was a widower living with his daughter. Kaser died on 4 February 1964.
