Anglo-Boere Oorlog (War) Medal (A.B.O.) 1899-1902 (Burger. P. J. J. J. Grobler) light contact marks, very fine

Peter Johannes Jacobus Jordan Grobler served with the Marico Commando and saw action from 4 October 1899-31 May 1902, serving under Piet Roux and General J. Snyman. He shared in the actions at Buffelspoort, Marico, Lichtenburg, Zilkaatsnek, Wolmaransstad and Rooiwal. He was wounded 'vlees wond byde beenen' ('flesh and bone wound') in the middle of 1900 at Zilkaatsnek; sold together with copied paperwork relating to the issue of the Medal, dated 1 December 1922.
