Likely John Joseph Meade who was serving as a Private with the Shropshire Light Infantry in Hong Kong from 2 September 1891 (No. 2897). Meade was advanced Lance-Corporal on 20 February 1894 and remained in Hong Kong until 21 December 1894, when he was posted to India.
