Albert Stock was born at Blunham, Bedfordshire in April 1873. He served some 11 years with the Bedfordshire Regiment before emigrating to Canada and settling at Port Credit, Ontario. With the outbreak of the Great War, he made himself two years younger (stating Date of Birth as 1 April 1875) upon enlisting at Ottawa in August 1914.

Serving with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, he was wounded in action on two occasions, firstly by a gun shot wound to the buttocks on 13 May 1915. Having recovered, he was again wounded at Pozieres on 15 September 1916, suffering gun shot wounds to the head and side. Transferred to assist Railway Troops, Stock suffered with hernias in early 1918 and was discharged in July 1918. He died on 12 August 1954.
