The Regimentally unique Tibet medal to Private D. Cooney, Indian Telegraph Department, who served on secondment from the Royal Munster Fusiliers

Tibet 1903-04, no clasp (5546 Pvt D Cooney Tel Dept), some edge bruising and polishing overall, otherwise nearly very fine

David Cooney (alias Michael Beary), was born at St. John's, Limerick and enlisted at Tralee, County Kerry. He saw service during the Boer War (Queen's Medal & 2 clasps) and during the Great War with the Royal Munster Fusiliers, serving in France from 21 August 1914 (1914 Star Trio, however his MIC notes return of the Pair). Cooney died of wounds on 3 January 1915 and is buried in the Grangegorman Military Cemetery, Ireland.
