Whilst a 'Jacob Sotaontion' does not appear on the Medal Roll, one 'Sak Sotaontion' is listed as entitled to this Medal and Clasp. At the Battle of Chateauguay (26 October 1813) an outnumbered force of British, Canadian, and native 'warriors' - commanded by the renowned Lieutenant-Colonel Charles-Michel de Salaberry - defeated a superior force of American troops attempting to invade Lower Canada and attack Montreal.
