Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R., silver-gilt and enamel; Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill; King's South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; 1914 Star; British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oakleaves; France, Republic, Legion d'honneur, Chevalier's breast Badge, silver and enamel, mounted for wear by Spink & Son Ltd., first lacking top bar and second detached from suspension rod, otherwise good very fine (7)

Gerald Ernest Montague Hill was born in February 1876 and commissioned into the British Army in 1896. He served with the 2nd Battalion East Lancashire Regiment and died in October 1954.
