O.B.E. London Gazette 1 January 1945, the original recommendation states:
'The devotion to his duty displayed by this Officer can have been seldom equalled and ever exceeded. He has worked unsparingly and efficiently under most difficult conditions over a period of nearly five years. The organisation under his control now deals with over 20,000 personnel'
Victor Robert Jordan was born at Dublin on 4 April 1900, the son of William Jordan. Joining the Royal Navy as a Paymaster Cadet he was appointed Assistant Clerk on 15 January 1918. Advanced Paymaster Midshipman on 15 January 1919 he went on to serve after the Great War.
Paymaster Commander by 1928 he was Paymaster Captain with St. Angelo during the later years of the Second World War. Jordan died in Cambridgeshire in 1988; sold together with copied service papers, London Gazette extract and medal rolls and well as birth and death register transcriptions.
