K.O.Scot: Bord:); Khedive's Star, undated, some light contact marks overall, otherwise very fine (4)

James Dance was born at Hurst, Wokingham, Berkshire. He was a Groom by trade and also saw service with the 3rd (Militia) Bn Royal West Surrey Regiment. Dance enlisted into the King's Own Scottish Borderers at Aldershot on 24 February 1888. He served in Egypt between 19 July-2 December 1888 and then served in the Eastern Soudan between 3-31 December 1888. He returned to Egypt on 1 January 1889 - 1 January 1890. He then served in the East Indies from 2 January 1890 - 31 January 1896. On completion of this Dance returns to the U.K. on 1 February 1896 where he remains until 4 January 1900. He is sent to South Africa on 5 January 1900 - 16 January 1901. Dance then returns to the U.K. for the final time on 17 January 1901 and is discharged on 23 February 1901.
