(x) Imperial Bank, Kingdom of Persia, 2 Tomans, Pehlevi, 25th October 1926, serial number B/V 004080, Pehlevi, also known as Bandar-e Anzali, marked one of the final branch bank openings overseen by the Imperial Bank of Persia. Situated in proximity to the bustling commercial hub of Resht, this modest branch was primarily established to bolster British trade interests.
It commenced operations in August 1926 and issued its inaugural currency notes in September of the same year. This banknote is dated merely a month after the branch's inauguration. It forms an exquisite pair with another Pehlevi note available for sale in this auction, both originating from the same printing day
