(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1870 [Die 88], Type IB, second larger young head, W.W. in relief on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.97g, 6h (MCE 530; Marsh 54; Bentley 1128; Spink 3853B), slight brightness and rub to cheek, otherwise residually lustrous, a bolder very fine, the reverse better - an exceptionally lucky die number!
