(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereigns, 1864, 'Stub-top 4', Type IB (3), [Die 48], second larger young head, WW incuse on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.96g, 7h (Bentley 121 [die state]); another [Die 48], 7.96g, 6h (Bentley 121 now flawed); another, similar [Die 58], 7.97g, 6h (MCE 525; Marsh 49; Bentley 1038; Spink 3853), some lightly wiped, otherwise all residually lustrous or brilliant, about very fine or better; an interesting degradation of the Die 48 reverse with heavy radial flawing through wreath (3)
