Most film posters were designed in house by studio artists and designers. However, throughout the 40s and 50s Ealing Studios broke the mould by adopting an ambitious and inventive approach to poster design. Headed by S. John Woods, a formidable graphic designer in his own right, the Ealing advertising department invited contemporary artists and designers to create posters for their films.
Original British posters on this title do not surface very often.
This film was directed by Charles Frend, and produced by Ealing Studios. It starts John Mills, as Robert Falcon Scott, and is about his Terra Nova Expedition and attempt to be the first person to reach the South Pole in Antarctica.
Excellent condition, colours remaining very bright. There is some discolouration wear and creasing in the top couple of inches of the blue background, and very minor restoration to the creases.
