Czechoslovakia: Witkowitzer Bergbau-Und-Eisenhütten Gewerkschaft, pair of trust certificates for 1 and 10 units, issued by the Alliance Assurance Compay Limited in 1937. Each unit representing 1 x 5000th part of a 'kux', green and blue respectievly, with coupons, cancelled. The ironworks were established in 1828 and in 1831 and after the Rothschilds gradually acquired control. The company was formed in 1873 with the Rothschilds owning 51% and Wilhelm von Gutman, also Jewish, 49%. The company was expropriated by the National Socialist Government in 1937. Taken over by the Czech state in 1945.VF and scarce (2).
