Australia, Bank of Australasia, specimen £100, 29th November 1906, serial number 3500, the Bank of Australasia was established in 1835 in Sydney, Australia, by prominent Australian and British individuals. Its vital role in offering banking services to the emerging colonies in Australia and New Zealand during the 19th century cannot be overstated.

During the early 20th century, banknotes issued by the Bank of Australasia were known for their intricate designs, often featuring portraits of prominent figures and symbolic representations. This particular £100 specimen note, originating from the Adelaide branch of the Bank of Australasia in South Australia, showcases a beautiful black-and-white tableau of two women. It includes a green denomination overprint and bears the word 'SPECIMEN' through perforation, with a subsequent hand stamped 'REJECTED' in purple ink. The note is adorned with an elegant and visually striking watermark border that enhances its overall aesthetic appeal. On the reverse side, you will find the bank's emblem positioned at the heart of an ornate pattern, surrounded by a rectangular frame with pleasing, curved corners. This note is exceptionally rare and has yet to be officially listed, thus making it a desirable find for any collector
