Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), 'Sovereign/Eagles' Type, 1056-1059, Penny, York, Ulfketill, EDþAD X ANGLOR, king enthroned, holding orb and sceptre, rev. + VLFCETL ON EOFRP, voided short cross, eagles in angles, no annulets, 1.27g, 11h (SCBI 21 [Yorkshire], 392; North 827; BMC IX; Spink 1181), some slight doubling to the obverse legend and softness to the devices, otherwise with a handsome and rich old cabinet tone, pleasing found flan, good very fine
