(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1854, 'Serifed 4', second young head left, WW incuse on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.98g [123.2grns], 6h (MCE 515; Marsh 3; EGC 1112; Benteley 71; Spink 3852D), an unfortunate historic scuff before mouth and to reverse rim, with a small die flaw in date, otherwise a wondrous survivor, fully lustrous with gorgeous peripheral orange flaring, sumptuously choice, practically as issued, in NGC holder, graded UNC DETAILS, OBV.
