Charles I (1625-1649), Tower Halfcrowns (13), under King (2), Group 3, 1636-1638, third horseman left, rev. oval garnished shield, 15.28g, 2h, m.m. tun, traces of doubling, otherwise a handsomely bold portrait, residually lustrous, near very fine; another, similar, with ground-line below, 15.03g, 9h, m.m. triangle, lightly cleaned but lustrous, on a fuller, rounder flan, fair / fine; also, struck under Parliament (11), including, Group 3a3, 2h, m.m. unknown, clipped to centre circle; another, Contemporary Forgery, Group 3a3, ex Ian Felix, 15 November 2008, £30; also, Group IV, m.m. triangle-in-circle, 2h; another, clipped small, but fourth horseman; another, 10h, m.m. triangle-in-circle; and another, 11h, m.m. triangle-in-circle; 7h, m.m. triangle-in-circle; also, 2h, m.m. tun, great portrait; 9h, m.m. triangle; Group 5, 8h, m.m. sun; 8h, m.m. (P); 5h, m.m. eye; 1h, m.m. (P), generally good to fine, on the typically irregular flans, some clipped small, others heavily circulated, otherwise a fascinating group with a good range of pyx-marks for this troubled period of English history (13)
