1820-1948 postal history selection (40) including 1820 letter from Canton to London with very interesting content about a boat attack finished in blood and about the massacre of Europeans in the Island of Manilla; 1860 letter registered from Portonovo India to Singapore bearing 8a. cancelled by C109 obliterator; 1874 telegram with envelope from Finland to Singapore; 1877 envelope registered from Singapore to Peshawar, bearing 4c. and 8c. cancelled by "B/172" obliterator, showing framed "regt letter no..." alongside, light Singapore c.d.s. in red with arrival datestamp (1.1.78) on reverse. Rare, one of three recorded covers registered to India. Very mixed condition, a great lot for the postal historian.
