Volunteer Force Long Service (India & the Colonies), E.VII.R. (1069. Volunteer William Herbert Fitzgerald Britts. Simla Volunteer Rifles), officially engraved naming, good very fine
William Herbert Fitzgerald Britts was born in September 1869 and by 1895 was the Assistant of the Adjutant-General of Simla. Britts was married at the Union Church, Simla in September 1901, although his wife died of mercury poisoning in 1916.
Having been awarded his L.S. Medal as per Indian Army Order 655 of November 1906, he returned home to England. Married at Sidbury in 1914 for the second occasion - perhaps bigamously - to 26-year old Louise Savage, Britts died at Whitby in 1949; sold together with copied research.
