M.M. London Gazette 19 November 1917.

George Henry Hickman, a native of Gordon Avenue, Southampton, served during the Great War on the Western Front with the 101st (Buckinghamshire & Berkshire Yeomanry) Company, Machine Gun Corps. He likely earned his M.M. during the Battles for Ypres and was recorded on the War Office Casualty List as having been wounded, this being reported on 6 October 1917. He was eventually discharged to a commission in the Indian Army.
